Welcome to the Team Joe!

Meet our new designer, Joe Vance! As Mediaura continues to grow, we are happy to announce this latest member to our design team. Joe will be a huge asset to our Digital Media team, working his creative magic to make custom website, branding, and marketing designs for our clients. We are really excited to get to know him and think you should get to know him, too!

1. You are stranded on a deserted island, what three things do you have with you and why?

As much music and Mystery Science Theater 3000 as I can cram into an iPhone, a solar-powered charger (to keep the party going), and a large supply of coffee. I’ll figure out a way to make the coffee, trust me.

2. What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

That I’m a GRAMMY award-winning musician. My high-school’s band program was acknowledged as a GRAMMY Signature School Gold Award Winner, complete with a legitimate GRAMMY Award. There is, surely, a pretty awesome photo of me with the award floating around out there.

3. Favorite Album?

MTV Unplugged in New York by Nirvana. By a landslide.

4. It’s your last meal, what do you eat?

Vegetable soup based on my grandmother’s recipe. It would bring to mind family, and if I’m gonna go out, I can at least go out with that comforting impression in mind.

5. Favorite Movie?

Pulp Fiction.

6. Name one thing you can’t live without.

Music. Medicine heals the body, music heals the soul.

7. How do you like to spend your free time?

Soooo many things. ALL the things. Drawing, or make art/create in general. Discovering new music. Checking out live bands. Chilling out with people, drinking good beer. Exercise. Reading. Sports. Watching the worst horror movies imaginable.

8. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Italy and Japan. And, once I’m there? Good luck getting me out.

9. Why did you want to be a designer?

Well, at first, it was part of my plan to avoid the “starving artist” thing! But, the further I became immersed in it I found that I had an apparent knack for it. And, I enjoyed the way it allowed me to solve creative problems, which could serve a functional purpose AND incorporate traditional artistic media in the process.

10. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Probably something like atomic particle control. You could convert deserts and wastelands into sustainable land worth living upon…aid in hunger issues, etc. Or possibly healing. Basically, something that would allow me to help those who are suffering or less fortunate. That would be rad, I think.
