Mark’s Feed Store Redesign

Mark's Feed Store Redesign

Mediaura recently launched the website redesign for Marks Feed Store – Louisville’s premier barbecue restaurant. Mark’s Feed Store has established itself as Louisville’s neighborhood barbecue joint and we wanted to showcase that title through their new website. Web development and design can really speak to the credibility of your business; an effective online presence is so important these days. A solid website can strengthen your brand whereas a poorly executed website will turn away potential customers.

The Redesign

There were many key elements that needed to be upgraded from the old website. The previous website wasn’t necessarily poor, it just needed some important changes. The site was busy with unnecessarily large blocks of text and it wasn’t optimized for search engines in the best way possible. You can view the new website in its entirety here.

The Changes

New Homepage Design

On the new homepage, we incorporated a rotating banner and got rid of the static image that is seen on the old homepage. The menu bar on the new site is much stronger than the old menu bar. We created a list menu bar that is very visible and easy to navigate, whereas the menu bar on the old menu is small and hard to read. Under the rotating banner on the homepage, we’ve included three boxes calling out to the pages that get the most clicks. Many customers come to the Mark’s Feed Store website to request catering, so now it’s right there when they reach the website homepage and they don’t have to dig around for the information.

Throughout the entire website, we condensed text, making each text box much more concise and inviting and included only the most necessary information. The menu pages have been cleaned up and optimized. Each menu has its own page creating a cleaner, more organized feel. The same goes for the store page. Mediaura added much more prominent call outs for Mark’s social media pages and we added a shopping cart icon for easy and convenient e-commerce.

Mobile

While the previous design was reactive to mobile, it was not as mobile-friendly as it needed to be. Mobile and tablet internet usage has surpassed desktop, so it is vital that our new design is easily accessible via mobile devices.
